Recommendations from the COVID-19 regional group of authorities in Central Ostrobothnia

  • The use of face masks is recommended for people over the age of 12 in public spaces such as shops and in other places outside the home
  • It is recommended that large groups of people and e.g. spending time at shopping centres is avoided in order to reduce social contacts.
  • Working remotely is recommended when possible.
  • It is recommended that people avoid close contacts outside of the family at their own discretion
  • It is recommended that all unnecessary travelling is avoided.
  • It is recommended that private gatherings of over ten people are not arranged. Those that arrange events are responsible for safety precautions and for the number of participants.

Five essentials on how to protect yourself and your loved ones from a coronavirus infection:

  • If you have even just mild symptoms that fit the coronavirus, stay at home and contact Soite electronically or by phone! Do not come to Soite’s unit without contacting Soite first.

    You can contact Soite electronically

You can contact Soite electronically by using the coronavirus symptom checker in the Omaolo service. If your symptoms require it, your contact information can be conveyed to Soite or you can book a time yourself to the drive-in testing site via the Omaolo service. The link for making a booking is offered after the symptom check-up has been filled in, if your symptoms require a coronavirus test.

    Or call Soite

You can also call Soite and a professional in Soite will then assess your need of care. If needed, professionals in Soite will ask you to come to Soite´s unit and for a coronavirus test.

  • It is important also for healthy people to reduce close contact with others, as this will slow the spread of the epidemic.

When moving about outdoors maintain a minimum distance of more than 2 metres to other people.

    • Do not shake hands.
    • Work remotely, when possible.
  • Wash your hands frequently with water and soap. Make sure that you wash your hands for at least 20 seconds each time.

  • A face mask will prevent droplets from spreading into the environment. When you use a face mask, you protect others from infection. The use of face masks is recommended for people over the age of 12: in public spaces, stores and in other places when running errands outside the home.
