Liven up your meeting day

Are you looking for a refreshing supplementary programme for your conference guests? Kokkola offers a wide range of programmes to choose from, both on land and offshore. Take a look at our list of the most popular programmes. Interested? Please contact us for more information.

Cultural tour in Kokkola
Take a trip back in time with Miss Adelina and Aunt Sofia. Experience a lovely promenade or a sightseeing tour in Neristan, Kokkola’s Old Town. Neristan is one of Finland’s most well-preserved wooden towns dating back to the period of Swedish Empire. Top off your day e.g. with luxurious dining in Vanhankaupungin ravintola.

Skirmish evenening event at Mustakari
The exciting evening begins with a short review of the Skirmish of Halkokari, which took place in the 19th century during the Crimean War. A delicious dinner is served on large wooden planks and in the spirit of the times, is eaten with your fingers. During the summer months the skirmish dinner is carried out at Mustakari, which is the third oldest yacht club in Finland, and in wintertime it is held at Original Sokos Hotel Kaarle.

Sightseeing bus tours and promenades in Neristan
A sightseeing bus tour offers you Kokkola in a nutshell. During the tours, visitors hear the story of Kokkola, and its journey from a seafaring town of the 17th century to become the provincial centre of Central Ostrobothnia.

Do business by the sea
Step aboard M/S Jenny and let the sea breeze stimulate your thoughts. Why not surprise your conference guests and take them out to sea? Enjoy a pleasant time together with no distractions. A refreshing spring or autumn cruise onboard M/S Jenny (max 177 people) makes your guests begin or end the conference day with smiles on their faces. Hold a conference while cruising in the archipelago or a relaxed meeting onboard while docked at a marina. M/S Jenny’s saloon serves a wide range of delicacies and can accommodate up to 70 people.

Tankar - an island of a thousand tales
Tankar is a beautiful, rugged island 17 km from Kokkola. For centuries, the island has functioned as a base for sealers and fishermen, and as a significant landmark for seafarers. Tankar is a perfect place to organise a meeting and enjoy an experience at a same time. Hold a meeting for example in the brand new Torni (tower) meeting room with a view to all directions. Alternatively, meetings can be arranged at the atmospheric pilot station, in Café-Restaurant Tankar, Lighthouse Keeper’s House or on the rocks by the sea. A guided island tour, meal of fish soup and archipelago sauna will all add to your meeting experience. You can also stay overnight at Tankar.

Nature activities
Kokkola offers a wide range of activities in the nature for your supplementary programme. Such activities include canoeing, boating, horse riding, trail riding, hiking, geocaching etc.

Wintery ice swimming
