The Home of Fredrik and Anna Drake
The home of Fredrik and Anna Drake is located in Neristan, the old town. In 1997, the house and its contents were donated to the city of Kokkola in the will of siblings Märta and Helmer Drake, the last members of the Drake family, to be maintained as a home museum. Four generations of the artisan family Drake lived in the house built in the 1830s. Its contents include items spanning from the late 18th century to the late 20th century, for example Objets d’ Art, handicrafts and a library of over 3000 books. Addr.: Läntinen Kirkkokatu 20. Open by appointment.

The Roos House
It´s story has had several chapters since the merchant family who built it left. The city of Kokkola bought the Roos House from the bank which owned it in 1961. The city’s Social services office was in the ground floor and the 1st floor housed the city museum which was founded in 1909. The Roos House went through a complete renovation in the 1980’s and since then the whole building was dedicated for the museum. In 2008 more renovations took place and the 1st floor exhibition was revised. The Veikko Vionoja art collection owned by the city of Kokkola now has a permanent exhibition in the ground floor of the house.

Leo Torppa`s Camera Collection
This unique camera collection is housed in the salt storehouse next to Roos House. It includes various items of photographic history from cameras to equipment. Intersting details  within Torppa’s collection are various cameras which were used for espionage purposes. Open Sat-Sun at 11-16, also by appointment.
