The Drake Arts Center Residence

Drake Arts Center is an international artists residency situated in Kokkola's old town, in the heart of Neristan. For the visiting artists the residency offers a flat of ca. 40 m2 in a refurbished old wooden house in the back-yard of the Drake house museum, a part of the K.H. Rendlund's Museum. The residence periods vary from one week to six months.

The residence is situated on Läntinen Kirkkokatu 20, in an old refurbished wooden house in the heart of the old town of Kokkola. The flat consists of a bedroom, a kitchenette and a bathroom with shower. The kitchen is equipped with service, fridge and freezer, electric oven, coffeemaker and microwave oven, the bedroom has beds for two and a desk. The resident have access to a bike as well. The kitchenette is spacious enough to serve as working space depending on the nature of work. A studio for painting or sculpture is provided by the Nordic Art School.

The residence is located in a charming part of the old town of Kokkola, Neristan. The Drake house in the yard of the residence is a fine example of life in the old town and it's surrounded by many old wooden houses in the same style. Thanks to the central location of the residence all services are found close by.
