Distribution of school meals to students in basic education, who are in distance teaching

07/04/2020

Distribution of school meals to students in basic education, who are in distance teaching, will start after Easter on Friday 17 April, when the first meals will be distributed.

The meals will be distributed once a week on Friday, when the students or guardians will pick up the meals for the following week. There are more pickup places than originally planned, in order to avoid crowds. Guardians will be informed about the pickup places and times via Wilma. If the families have more questions, they can be sent via Wilma.

The meals are, in general, packed in 600 gram vacuum packs. The meals can be heated in a microwave, on a stove or in an oven depending on the dish. Each student will get two different dishes for each week.

Guardians will order meals in advance for one week at a time so that meals distributed on Friday 24 April are ordered by 16:00 on Thursday 9 April. The order takes place via Wilma

By distributing school meals during this exceptional situation, the city wishes to support the smooth running of everyday life of families. The distribution is part of the principles of the Child Friendly Municipality Initiative in Kokkola.
