Granting coronavirus support for single-person entrepreneurs in Kokkola

During the weekend, the City of Kokkola and Kokkolanseudun Kehitys Ltd, KOSEK, have prepared the process of granting state-funded coronavirus support for single-person entrepreneurs in accordance with the guidelines given by the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment in Finland on Friday. Single-person entrepreneurs in Kokkolan can apply for the support directly from KOSEK. According to current information, the support decree will enter into force on Thursday 9 March. The Kokkola City Board will discuss the matter as necessary at its meeting on Monday.

Instructions and an application template will soon open on KOSEK’s website, the application shall be filled in and returned by the entrepreneur. ”The processing will be done in KOSEK in accordance with application instruction given by the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment. The actual support decision is made as an office-holder's decision by the City. The City will also handle the payment of the support.” says KOSEK’s Acting CEO Pekka Pohjola.

KOSEK will give further information to entrepreneurs on the single-person entrepreneur support. The information will be updated as the Ministry's instructions are specified. State-funded coronavirus support for single-person entrepreneurs

The Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment in Finland directs support measures for different businesses groups to alleviate the effects of the corona epidemic. As part of this support package, support will awarded for single-person entrepreneurs; the processing, decision-making and payment of the support will be managed by the municipalities. The Finnish state is funding the support completely and the total amount granted in Finland amounts up to 100 million euro. The decree will come into force on 9 March, after which the support will be paid to municipalities on the basis of a mathematical share.
