Applying for a student position

The application period for new students for the early age studies of basic education in the arts and for the first year, is 1.4.-30.4.2026.

Early childhood studies can be pursued by children born in 2020 and for the first year of 2018 and 2019 for basic visual arts education. The child must live in Kokkola when the school begins. Late applications are not taken into account.  

You can apply for a position in either a Finnish-speaking or Swedish-speaking group. If there are not enough Swedish-speaking applicants, a bilingual group is formed if necessary. If the number of applicants exceeds the number of student places, the places will be drawn. All applicants will be informed of the admission decision.  

The student is welcome to participate in a fun and creative art hobby!

You can inquire from the office (ktk-bks@kokkola.fi) about possible available places in groups of older students during the school year.

You can register for Kälviä’s art courses and other open art courses in August. Information on enrolment is provided on the website of the School of Arts and in the study guide of Kokkolan seudun opisto (Kokkola Adult Education Center).
