Swimming beaches

In Kokkola, there are ten public swimming beaches maintained by the city and supervised by the health protection authorities. Five of these are classified as so-called public beaches and the rest are small public beaches.

Familiarize yourself with safe swimming practices before heading to the beach. Beach etiquette and safety guidelines help ensure a pleasant and safe experience for everyone – both in the water and on the beach.

Remember these key points!

  • Small children are not allowed on the beach unsupervised.
  • Guardians must be vigilant while their children are playing.
  • Do not go swimming if you are alone on the beach.
  • Always swim parallel to the shoreline and only within the beach area.
  • Do not enter water or go swimming if you are intoxicated.

Public swimming beaches

A beach visited by over 100 swimmers per day is considered a public swimming beach.

    • Parents or guardians are always responsible for their children!
    • Those who cannot swim must never go into the water alone!

    • Those who cannot swim must never go into the water alone!
    • PLEASE NOTE! The small beach in the camping area is not a public swimming beach
