Tuition and discounts

Tuition 2025-2026, Basic education in the arts

Children under school age 60 min / week

  • 105 €/semester (210 €/school year)

1st-4th grades 2 x 45 min / week

  • 126 €/semester (252 €/school year)

5th-6th grades and workshop studies 3 x 45 min / week

  • 189 €/semester (378/school year)

If the student participates in more than one workshop during the school year, we will charge half the tuition fee for the additional workshops.

We will charge students who work independently with their final project a fee of 50 euros.

  • The student doesn’t take attend classes. The price includes materials, final project guidance, participation in the final project exhibition and assessment of the final project.
  • Students of the basic art education of the Art School have the opportunity to apply for a fee waiver from the tuition fee. An exemption from tuition may be granted to 10% of students on the basis of a separate application each study year. 

    The exemption must be applied for every study year. The decision on the fee waiver applies to the entire study year. The exemption can also be granted on a half-free basis, in which case half of the tuition fee is charged. 

    There are no other deductions or exemptions from fees for students of the Art School. The Kaiku card cannot be used for courses at the Art School. 

    The fee waiver search for the study year 2025-2026 beging 11.8.2025 and ends 21.9.2025. Late applications will not be considered.

    APPLICATIONS MUST INCLUDE:

    1. Fee waiver application form
    2. Copy of guardians’ tax certificate for 2024 (Information on both guardians in joint custody and a tax certificate for both are attached;
      the certificate shows the person’s final taxable income for municipal tax purposes.)
    3. A report on other relevant factors if the family’s situation has changed substantially since the previous tax year (e.g. a decision on daily allowance or debt restructuring, a statement of the full-time studies started, etc.)

  • Billing principles for autumn semester 2025

    • During the period 11.8.-12.10.2025, students who continue and start the Art School are obliged to pay the fee for the entire semester.
    • Students who quit or take a break during the period 11.8.-12.10.2025 are obliged to pay half of the tuition fee.
    • Students who quit or take a break on 13.10.2025 and thereafter are obliged to pay the full semester fee.
    • Students starting on and after 20.10.2025 are obliged to pay half of the tuition fee.

    Billing principles for spring semester 2026

    • During the period 8.1.-22.2.2026, students who continue and start the Art School are obliged to pay the fee for the entire semester.
    • Students who quit or take a break during the period 8.1.-22.2.2026 are obliged to pay half of the tuition fee.
    • Students who quit or take a break on 23.2.2026 and thereafter are obliged to pay the full semester fee.
    • Students starting on and after 2.3.2026 are obliged to pay half of the tuition fee.

    New starting pupils

    New entrants have the opportunity to attend classes for the first two times at no cost. A student place must be cancelled immediately after two participations if the student does not continue in the Art School. The termination will primarily be notified by e-mail to the address of the Office of the School of Fine Arts: ktk-bks@kokkola.fi.
