The Laajalahti birdwatching tower is out of use. A condition inspection revealed damage and structural deficiencies that affect safety. The tower has been closed for safety reasons. The possibilities for repairing the tower are being assessed by associations. However, the birdwatching hide and Hietanokka birdwatching tower is in use.
On the City of Kokkola’s website, you can find more information about other birdwatching towers in the area. Kokkola has over one hundred kilometres of marked hiking trails and nature paths, more than 60 rest spots, and more than ten birdwatching and observation towers.
