The building management services are tasked with ensuring that all users of the public facilities can operate in a functional, healthy and safe environment. Building management must be carried out in a way that preserves the value of the properties and keeps the facilities affordable for the users.
HPAC equipment must be constantly maintained and serviced. HPAC maintenance refers to the maintenance of heat, water and air conditioning systems in the municipal facilities. Some of the services are outsourced and some carried out by the city employees.
Electrical maintenance includes the continuous maintenance and upkeep of electrical equipment in the municipal facilities. This work is also partially outsourced and partially carried out by the city. Moreover, the building services unit is in charge of providing caretakers’ and janitors’ services for the city properties.
