Collaboration is the foundation of all Kieppi’s activities. We co-operate with, for example, the Geological Survey of Finland, the Finnish Museum of Natural History and local operators, experts and enthusiasts. The local artists bring an important dimension to the delicate nature experience.

The work of Kokkola-born photographer Tapio Väinölä (1950–2021) reflects his interest in the life and nature around him. As a nature enthusiast and birdwatcher, Väinölä photographed not only birds but also other animals, plants, landscapes, and natural phenomena. The extensive collection donated to the city features both the delicate and the dynamic moments of summer.
