Collaboration is the foundation of all Kieppi’s activities. We co-operate with, for example, the Geological Survey of Finland, the Finnish Museum of Natural History and local operators, experts and enthusiasts. The local artists bring an important dimension to the delicate nature experience.
The King of the Forest, Tapani Kurttila
skulpturer
2.9.–29.11.2026
Owing to his professional background as a conservator at natural history museums, Kurttila has become familiar with various sculptural techniques. Animal motifs are central to Kurttila’s production. He works with clay, bronze and wood, in addition with polyurethane and fibreglass in larger works.
In his clay sculptures, Tapani Kurttila highlights the different features of the elk – its strength and grace, and its lightness of movement. The soul of the works lies hidden in the small, subtle details.
