Stormwater

Stormwater means rain and melting water that must be drained off from the ground, roof of a building or other similar surface. Stormwater also includes drainage water from building foundations.

The purpose of stormwater management is to prevent the water from damaging properties and the environment. The adoption of the stormwater utility fee is based on the Land Use and Building Act.

The stormwater utility fee is collected once a year. The invoice for the stormwater utility fee is sent to the owner or holder of a property. The stormwater utility fee is applied to all built properties within the area of influence of the stormwater system. The stormwater system’s area of influence means the area with properties that are included in the scope of the city’s stormwater system.
