KOHASU – The Finnish model for hobbies

The Finnish model for leisure activities is a national project and its main objective is to enable that every child and young person to have a leisure activity in connection with the school day that they enjoy and one that is free of charge. The Ministry of Education and Culture finances the activities in Finland.

The project for the Finnish model for leisure activities in Kokkola (KOHASU) is carried out in close cooperation with local sports clubs, art and cultural operators, associations and companies operating in the region as well as the school staff.

The range of hobbies is selected based on the wishes of children and young people. The range of hobbies is built and planned together with the schools and those offering the activities.
