You can borrow picture books, fairy tales, books for children and young adults, non-fiction, magazines, games, movies and children’s music from the library.

The staff is happy to help you find what you are looking for, or you can search for it yourself online through the web library. In the children’s and young adult section you can also play games or play with the library’s toys. You are also welcome to study or just spend time at the library.

The Kokkola City Library has picture books, non-fiction and children’s and young adult books in English. We also have small collections of German, Russian, Estonian, Spanish, Italian, Arabic, Chinese and Persian children’s books. If you want to read more books in these languages, or in any other language, we can arrange for the Multilingual library in Helsinki to send us some for you to borrow.

We collaborate with day cares and pre-schools in Finnish and Swedish by offering storytime sessions, book packages and guided tours in of the library and how to use it. For older kids, we offer book recommendations and activity-based tours of the library in Finnish and Swedish.
